Get started with MainVac

MainVac has two parts: the app on your computer shares a window, and the app on your phone or iPad shows and controls it. Set up your computer first.

1. Install MainVac on your computer

   Download for Mac

   macOS 14+, Apple silicon

   Reading this on your phone? Open mainvac.com/download on your computer.

2. Allow the two permissions

   When MainVac first opens, it asks for Screen Recording, so it can show the window you choose, and Accessibility, so your taps and typing reach that window. Then choose the window to share.

3. Connect from your phone

   In MainVac on your computer, click Scan to connect. In the MainVac app on your phone, tap New connection › Scan a QR code and scan it. On the same Wi-Fi, your computer also appears under Nearby computers.
